First Choice covers everywhere from Thailand to Turkey; you just have to decide which one, out of their impressive destinations list, you’re going to visit.
Seasoned pros at keeping the kids happy, all the holiday villages have kids’ clubs, split into age-appropriate activities meaning from dawn to dusk (some operate in the evening giving you chance to go out and let your hair down), everyone in the family should be happy. There’s the usual gamut of stuff as well as a few carefully chosen exceptions to add spice to the mix. Alongside archery, tennis, crazy golf, raft building and canoeing, you’ll also find chocolate parties, circus workshops and the above-mentioned academies (stage, football, etc). Rooms are family-friendly, stocked with toys and the ubiquitous TV and DVD player.
The pools tend to be gargantuan and, deservedly the centre of attention but there are also toddler pools and play areas for the less able water babies. If the resort pool isn’t enough for you, each Holiday Village gives you access to a first-rate waterpark where you’ll all be able to whizz down slides, ride the waves and generally make a splash.
If anyone in your family has a head for heights, they can try out the Aerial Adventures; a purpose-built assault course (each resort features a different one), to test nerves of steel (over 6s). And if any of you have an ounce of energy left in the evenings you can sit back and enjoy a night of live-shows and cabaret acts, topped up from one of the many bars and restaurants that are a standard on the sites, featuring food for adventurous palates and picky eaters alike - with many also offering 'all-inclusive' options.
