This spacious, modern hotel has a wonderful cliff-top location - a perfect base for exploring on foot or by car - nowhere is far on these islands! One of the most spectacular walking trails on the island passes right in front of the hotel. Taking this you can also make a short walk to some natural pools for swimming, which kids love.

The hotel has a bright, contemporary interior, with windows everywhere, to make the most of the views and the light. Standard rooms are great for a family of 3 but they also have slightly bigger family rooms sleeping 4, or you could take a suite, giving you a separate bedroom plus a sofabed in the lounge.

You will find a good range of facilities to keep everyone happy, with both indoor and outdoor pools and grounds that include a tennis court and play area. Entertainment is low-key, giving you time to just enjoy being together, with occasional live music in the bar and a range of board games to choose from. The hotel is a bit 'in the middle of nowhere', but this means it has lots of space for kids to stretch their legs, and equally, nothing is far away - giving you the best of both worlds.

The Pedras do Mar is located on the north coast of the island, just 20 minutes' drive from the airport. Flights are available from the across the UK, either direct (more frequent Apr-Oct) or via Lisbon or Porto in Portugal.
