VidaMar Madeira, Funchal
The VidaMar is a stylish, modern hotel in the Lido area of Funchal. Most of the rooms offer stunning views of the ocean (which you can access from the hotel's expansive pool area). The hotel has a Thalasso spa, offering a variety of treatments, as well as a fitness centre - there is very much an emphasis on health and wellbeing here. While you're taking a yoga class or enjoying a spa treatment, children can enjoy some fun and games at the Aquatic Kids' Club, which is open every morning in high season.
The hotel offers three different room categories, primarily based on what floor they are on - from Prestige on the lower flowers, to Premium on the top floors (there are 10 floors altogether). In each category, there are family rooms sleeping up to four.
The Lido area is just to the west of the centre of Funchal and you can walk to the centre or a taxi will only take a few minutes. This is a popular area and makes a great base from which to explore.

The VidaMar is set right on the coast so most rooms have a partial or full sea view. Options for families include:
- Prestige Family Room - sleeps up to 4. Located on the 1st and 2nd floors.
- Superior Family Room - sleeps up to 4. Located on the 2nd-8th floors. All have a full sea view.
- Premium Family Room - sleeps 3-4 with 2 separate sleeping areas. Located on the top floors of the hotel.
Total: 300 rooms and suites

Childcare
The professional team at Aquatica Kids' Club offer a programme of fun activities for children from 3-11 years old. Activities may include things such as:

Location
The VidaMar is 5 minutes' walk from the Lido Promenade, to the west of Funchal city centre. The centre is about 20 minutes' walk (or a short taxi ride). The transfer time from the airport is about 50 minutes. Flights directly to Madeira are available from across the UK.
There is a choice of pools as well as gardens and a play area.
