Itinerary

Day 1: San José

Meet your group at the evening welcome meeting at your hotel.

Day 2: San José and around

Discover Costa Rica's capital on a bus tour then learn about the country's ecosystems at the National Institute of Biodiversity, drive to a nearby volcano to see the coffee plantations and try some of the best coffee in the world, and visit a butterfly farm.

Day 3: Tortuguero National Park

Explore the national park and the rainforest, ending the day at your riverbank accommodation.

Day 4: Tortuguero National Park

Enjoy boating and walking to spot local birds, animals and marine life.

Day 5: Sarapiqui

Transfer by boat to the port, sighting unusual plants and animal life en-route, finishing at the bird-watching haven of Sarapiqui where you will stay in an eco-lodge.

Day 6: Sarapiqui

Explore under your own steam, and sign up for optional excursions including white-water rafting and a chocolate tour

Day 7: Arenal Volcano

Drive to the volcano and Tabacon hot springs.

Day 8: Arenal National Park

Join a guided tour of the national park; in the afternoon pick from optional excursions.

Days 9 and 10: Monteverde National Park

Experience the cloud forests, spotting native creatures, taking a canopy walk, and trying additional excursions including zipwiring through the jungle and a night-time jungle hike.

Days 11-13: Manuel Antonio National Park

Discover another national park and stay in a wildlife reserve on the beach. Additional excursions include a catamaran cruise, a kayak tour and horse riding.

Day 14: Carara Biological Reserve

Take a rainforest walk before heading back to San José.

Day 15

Enjoy breakfast before depature.
