Right by the slopes and the pedestrianized shopping centre, Ruka Village Hotel and Apartments in the Lapland region of northern Finland are ideal for families who want to be in the thick of things, although some online reviews mention that the setting can be noisy at night time. Ruka has an outdoor playground, a bowling alley and a small kids' softplay facility.

The hotel has four restaurants; breakfast is included with some apartments. Rooms and apartments are spacious, modern and slick, blending practicality and comfort. Hotel rooms have kitchenettes and saunas, while apartments also have kitchenettes, plus living areas, cosy fireplaces and TVs. Some even have their own hot tub on the balcony.
