All-inclusive family holidays on the Indian Ocean islands

The islands of the Indian Ocean could have been tailor-made for family holidays, especially for winter sun – although Mauritius in particular is becoming a viable alternative to the Mediterranean even in summer, when prices in the latter shoot up and accommodation in many of the most popular luxury European resorts is in short supply. Mauritius is also easy to get to and super-child-friendly, with direct flights from the UK. The Seychelles is another tropical paradise with a whole array of luxury family-friendly resorts, but at the time of writing there were no direct flights from the UK to Mahé (this may change, so do ask our travel agents for the latest information).

The Maldives used to have a reputation as more of a honeymooners’/weddings/couples’ destination but now has plenty of resorts catering to those with kids, whether you’re travelling with a tiny baby or an active teenager.
